Local Online Company is Counting on Big Rewards at Republican National Convention
Friday, August 18th

A local online company is one of the few select vendors who was chosen to sell items to the thousands of guests visiting Philadelphia for the Republican National Convention. MerchantsBay.com was one of the few New Jersey vendors chosen to sell items to both the delegates and general public at the Philadelphia Convention Center, from July 26 - August 3.

MerchantsBay.com is selling political memorabilia that includes: baby bibs imprinted with the Liberty Bell, elephant-shape dog biscuits, jewelry, Republican soap, and candles from the Philadelphia Patriot Collection. Owner Troy Pappas is looking forward to showcasing their products on a national level.

During the course of one week, we will show off our products and our website to every state in the nation. It's really a golden opportunity. Our hope is that people will like what they see, and then visit us online to find out more.

This is an exciting opportunity for Merchants Bay's manufacturers as well, who are looking forward to the exposure that the RNC will bring. Pappas searched nationwide for these handcrafted goods, with items spanning the U.S. from California to Vermont.

In addition to selling political memorabilia, MerchantsBay.com hails itself as the purveyor of good stuff, offering everything from discounted long distance rates to scented candles to jewelry. Before making a purchase, viewers can watch video clips of products and services, and get feedback from other customers before making their purchase. Finally, they can negotiate on the price.

Pappas, formerly a health care administrator, decided to turn the selling process around. Instead of pushing things that he wanted to sell, he found out what consumers wanted to buy. To find the answer, Pappas spent two years canvassing flea markets, craft shows and school fairs for quality products. Along the way, Pappas created two rules of selling: all items must be handcrafted in the U.S., and they must be something he would want to give to a friend or family member. As a result of his hard work, the site now sells quality products from 13 states.

MerchantsBay.com is located in the Burlington County College High Tech Incubator in Mt. Laurel, NJ. For more information, visit www.MerchantsBay.com.
